The 2018 CKS Shilin Residence Tulip Show will take place at Chiang Kai-shek’s former western-style garden home from February 13 to March 28, and will be open during the Chinese New Year holiday.

The Parks and Street Lights Office (PSLO) has installed a preview of the flowers for the public at the outdoor area next to the north entrance of City Hall for the next two weeks.

The CKS Shilin Residence Tulip Show will feature nearly 20 varieties of tulips and hyacinths, as well as countryside elements inspired by Dutch culture.

The Shilin Official Residence, which is housed on a 9.28-hectare park, opened to the public in 1996 and was originally the Shilin Horticultural Experimental Station during Japanese occupation. It became Chiang’s residence in 1950.

The residence is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and until 7 pm on weekends. Admission is NT$100.  (map)

  1. Is the Tulip Show until March 28 as stated above? Other sites mention that it is only until 28 February 2018.
Arriving in Taipei on March 8 and I would appreciate it if you could confirm above information. Thanks!

      • I visited the the Department of Information and Technology and found out that it is only from Feb 13-28, not March 28.😞

        from the govt page:
2018 Shilin Official Residence Tulip Exhibition – Encounter with the Netherlands
        Date: February 13 – 28
        Opening Hours: 8 AM – 7 PM
Venue: Western Style Garden at Shilin Official Residence

Much as I wanted to catch this on our very short visit to Taipei next week for my Mom, I do hope you can verify your post because we would really be happy if the post on the gov site was wrong.
