Air pollution in Taipei

Despite low visibility due to fog in Taoyuan, which delayed and diverted some flights at Taoyuan Airport this morning, Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau stated that Taipei was not experiencing the same weather.

The haze in Taipei today is due to pollution. The average AQI air pollution index in the city is 114-162, which is unhealthy. The PM 2.5 levels range from 44 to 72. AQI levels closer to the coast are lower than in Taipei.

You can monitor hourly PM 2.5 levels in your district via the EPA website.
