Early Saturday morning, Taipei police raided three locations, 409 Club in Zhongshan District and the Grand Hyatt Hotel and Lava Club in Xinyi District, searching for drugs. The sweep netted ecstasy, ketamine, and small quantities of other drugs. 200 people were arrested, though there was no differentiation between drug dealers and users in the crackdown.

The sweep is part of a larger crackdown on drugs in the city as schools are on holiday, allowing for more leisure time for students who may be enticed to dabble in some recreational drug use.
