At the start of the Monday morning rush hour at 7:52 am, a man caused concern and some panic on the MRT as he reportedly acted erratic and waved a liquor bottle around in a threatening manner while shouting.

The man, surnamed Pan, was traveling on the Green Line toward Xindian Station when he began acting agitated around Taipower Stations, Apple Daily reported. Passengers grew concerned and pushed each other to move farther from the perceived danger, leaving behind a mess of newspapers, lost shoes and glasses, and some breakfast.

Some passengers alerted the conductor and many exited the train as soon as it stopped at Gongguan Station. Two men were injured as the passengers pushed to exit the train.

One injured man was sent to Ren Ai Hospital (仁愛醫院) for treatment for laceration around his eye, according to UDN.

Pan was subdued and taken into police custody when he exited the MRT at Jingmei Station.

MRT service was not affected by the incident. No further details about the incident have been released at this time.
