A 58-year-old drunk man attempted to set a Pingtung County police station on fire yesterday, UDN reported. The man surnamed Lin was caught pouring two liters of gasoline around the police station and on a police car after drinking two bottles of rice wine in the afternoon. He threatened to set the station on fire, but was subdued before he could light it.

Last year, the man was arrested for drunk driving. He wanted to commit arson to avenge what he called “judicial injustice (司法不公).”

Mr. Lin was charged with attempted arson and public intoxication. He was transferred to the Judicial Yuan for trial this morning.
