The 25th Taipei International Book Exhibition will open at Taipei World Trade Center Halls 1 & 3 on February 8 and run through the 13th. This year’s theme is “Sharing the Joy of Reading.”
This year’s exhibition will feature sections for Independent Publishers and NGOs, Literature and Arts Books, International Publishers, Digital Publishing, and Foreign Book Importers, Wholesale Outlets, and Book Agents. There will be seminars and readings for attendees to enjoy.
Authors attending this year’s Book Exhibition include ward-winning French writer and filmmaker Philippe Claudel, American sci-fi novelist Kevin Hearne, and PEN/Faulker Award-winning Chinese-American poet and novelist Ha Jin. Czech painter and designer Tomáš Řízek and Japanese illustrators Kagawa Gentaro and Kazuo Iwamura will also be hosting forums.
This year’s event will also feature an Israel pavilion with literature reflecting the Holocaust and Jewish culture. Other countries represented include Belgium, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, and Switzerland. The Swiss pavilion will be the largest at the exhibition with 13 publishers present.
Tickets for the exhibition are NT$200 for a multi-day ticket and NT$100 for a single day. All attendees under 18 are admitted free. The event is open every day from 10:30 to 21:00. For more information, visit the official Taipei International Book Exhibition website.
