A Taiwan Heart Foundation study found an increase in heart disease-related deaths among 25-44 year olds over the past 10 years, The Central News Agency reported today. The survey said that deaths linked to heart health increased 30% in the decade.
The Heart Foundation said that the public needs greater awareness and should understand the medical options related to heart disease. It recommended healthy lifestyle changes to improve heart health in Taiwan.
In the last year, Taiwan has implanted more than 1000 bioresorbable vascular scaffolds in clinical trials as an alternative to stents.
According to medical reports, higher levels of PM 2.5 can contribute to higher rates of heart disease and affect overall cardiovascular health.
