Ang Lee to Receive IBC Honor

Taiwan-born director Ang Lee will receive the IBC2016 International Honour for Excellence, the highest award presented by the IBC, on September 11, according to the organization’s website. He is also set to give the keynote address at the IBC conference on September 12 in Amsterdam.

Ang Lee is best known for his hit films “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” “Brokeback Mountain,” and “Life of Pi.” The latter two earned Lee Academy Awards. “Life of Pi” was also the first 3D movie to win an Oscar for best director. His films have been nominated for a total 38 Academy Awards and have won 12.

Lee’s next film, “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” is set for release in November.

Previous honorees include Peter Jackson and David Attenborough.
