Low-cost South Korean airline Jeju Air launched its newest flight route on Friday from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport to Muan on the southwestern coast of the Korean Penninsula, UDN reported.

The inaugural flight number 7C2611 departed Taoyuan Airport Friday afternoon. It is Jeju Air’s fourth direct flight from Taiwan and the first airline to offer flights to Muan.

The flight between Taipei and Muan is about two hours with a one-hour time difference between Taiwan and South Korea. Jeju Air will operate one flight each way on the route.

Muan county, with a population of just over 75,000, is in South Jeolla Province and is known for Topmeori Beach and fresh seafood. The area also boasts an abundance of parks and small museums. Muan hosts a renowned White Lotus Festival in the summer that covers an area of 330,000 sqm., making it the largest white lotus habitat in Korea. This year’s White Lotus Festival takes place August 9 to 12.
